Roller coaster in China
Dragon Khan
Aaah! The roller coaster the park opened with: a big drop followed by eight inversions, which set a world record in 1995.
Legend has it that Prince Hu tried to overthrow the emperor and the gods punished him by turning him into a huge dragon, condemned to wander forever. That dragon is the coaster: a first drop followed by eight inversions, including a vertical loop and a cobra roll.
When it opened in 1995 it had more inversions than any other roller coaster in the world, and it became the symbol of PortAventura. The ride lasts just over a minute and reaches 110 km/h.
Who is it for?
For anyone who wants loops. It’s shorter than Shambhala, but the twists and inversions make it just as intense, or more.
